About the Tour

The tour will leave for Samburu National Reserve from Nairobi through the Mt Kenya region for 2 nights in the semi Arid park of the Samburu community before proceeding to Lake Nakuru for one night. The tour will end in Nairobi on the fourth day.

The Samburu National Reserve is a game reserve on the banks of the Ewaso Ng’iro river in Kenya. On the other side of the river is the Buffalo Springs National Reserve. In the middle of the reserve, the Ewaso Ng’iro flows through doum palm groves and thick riverine forests.

Tour Rules

1. A deposit of 30% is required and the balance to be paid at least 2 weeks before the departure date unless special arrangements are made for payment on departure date.

2. Cancellation received 2 days before the departure date is subject to a 50% cancelation fee while no show will attract 100% fee.

DAY 1: TRAVELLING TO SAMBURUNAIROBI - SAMBURU GAME RESERVE

You will be picked from your Nairobi hotel at 7.30 am and thereby start your trip to Samburu. The journey will take you through Kikuyu land which is rich in Agriculture seeing Pineapple plantation and coffee farms on your way.

You will have a brief stop at the Equator and then have lunch at Nanyuki and then proceed to Samburu Game Reserve arriving at around 2.30 pm. After a short time to relax and a welcoming juice or coffee, proceed to an evening game drive till sundown. Dinner and overnight in a camp or lodge.

DAY 2: ENJOYING OF SAMBURU

You will leave your camp or lodge after breakfast and then go for a morning game drive till 11.00 am and then get back back to your lodge or camp. This is because Samburu is a semi-arid area and temperature gets too high. The park is home to the "Special Five" namely, Gerenuk or Antelope Giraffe, Grevy Zebra, Reticulated Giraffe, and Somali Ostrich. Have your lunch and either relax in your camp or lodge.

Those who dop camping will have free time to visit a nearby lodge where you can swim at an extra fee. You will again have an evening game drive in the evening starting from 4.00 pm till sundown. A visit to Sambur village can be arranged in this evening but at an extra cost. Dinner and overnight your lodge or camp.

DAY 3: TRAVELLING TO LAKE NAKURUDINNER AND OVERNIGHT AT LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK

You will have a pre-breakfast game drive till 9.00 am then you come back to the lodge or camp for full breakfast thereafter leave for Lake Nakuru with lunch en-route arriving in Lake Nakuru in the evening. Dinner and overnight at your lodge or budget hotel

DAY 4: ENJOYING FLAMINGOGAME DRIVE IN NAKURU AND COMING BACK TO NAIROBI

After breakfast, you will have a chance to visit Lake Nakuru National park and have a game drive within the park lasting about 4 hours. The park is small but beautiful and famous for its large flock of flamingos.

Leave the park and have lunch en-route arriving in Nairobi in the evening.
